Overview

    • Phases: 4, transitions based on boss health (100, 65, 35, 20)
    • Berserk: Soft enrage in Phase 4 from increasing damage buff on boss
    • Heroism: Phase 4 (20%)
    • Healer Cooldowns: Phase 4
    • Phase 1 Position: Left side near Fel Portal
    • Phase 2 Position: Right side near Void Portal
    • Phase 3 Position: Center between puddles
    • Phase 4 Position: Center between puddles

The Major Mechanic - Feltouched and Voidtouched Debuffs

    • Feltouched: 15 second debuff, caused by anything fire damage.
    • Voidtouched: 15 second debuff, caused by anything shadow damage.
    • Shadowfel Annihilation: When opposite damage is taken with either debuff, causes a big explosion, 20 yard range, destroys any puddles in this range and removes current player debuffs.

Phase 1 (100-65%) - Fel

Things to Run Away From:

  • Fel Surge: Run to edge of room, drop puddle after 5 seconds.
  • Fel Orb: Travels in a straight line from Wild Pyromaniac add, it is interruptible and stunnable. If orb hits you, it gives debuff stacking Fire DoT. If not intercepted, it will fall to the ground and create a puddle. (To avoid creating a puddle, players can intercept them and should wait until debuff fades before intercepting again.)
  • Chains of Fel - affected players run AWAY from each other.
  • All of these abilities cause Feltouched debuff.

What to Kill:

  1. Wild Pyromaniac - top priority to kill, interrupt and stun to avoid casts of Fel Orb.
  2. Vanguard Akkelion:
  • Must be tanked. Uses Felblaze Flurry on tank, stacking debuff increases damage taken.
  • May need to tank switch if Felblaze Flurry becomes unmanageable.
  • Note: Damage dealt to Xhul'horac is copied to Akkelion and vice versa. Akkelion's health pool is equal to 25% of Xhul'horac's health pool. Fel phase will end with Xhul'horac at 65%.

Phase 2 (65-35%) - Shadow

Things to Run Away From:

  • Void Surge: Run to edge of room, drop puddle after 5 seconds.
  • Volatile Voidstep: Purple swirly cast by Unstable Voidfiend. A designated kiter should handle Voidfiends and avoid standing in purple swirlies which will cause purple puddles at the end of the cast.

Things to Group Up For:

  • Black Hole: Cast by Omnus, does AoE while it is up; 2-3 players must run into its center at the same time to share damage. (11 yards)
  • All of the above abilities cause Voidtouched debuff.

 What to Kill:

  1. Wild Pyromaniac - continues to spawn during this phase and must be dealt with as before.
  2. Unstable Voidfiend - should be kited but killed quickly.
  3. Omnus:
  • Must be tanked. Uses Withering Gaze on tank, stacking debuff increases damage taken.
  • May need to tank switch if Withering Gaze becomes unmanageable.
  • Same health situation as Phase 1 add.

Phase 3 (35-20%) - Shadowfel

    • Tanks must swap on alternating energies, one tank takes all Fel Strike, the other takes all Void Strike, approximately 7 seconds apart.
    • Both Fel Surge and Void surge will be cast during this phase, players need to pay attention to which debuff they are affected by and run the correct way to drop a puddle.
    • Wild Pyromaniacs and Unstable Voidfiends continue to spawn and must be dealt with appropriately.

Phase 4 (20-0%) - Burn (Chaos)

    • Tank swapping continues as in phase 3.
    • Debuff running continues as in phase 3.
    • No more adds to kill.
    • Xhul'horac casts Overwhelming Chaos every 10 seconds, increasing damage done by 10% stacking. (Soft enrage)
    • Triggering Shadowfel Annihilation during this phase can cause a wipe. (Puddles must continue to be dealt with appropriately.)
